Semi Finals weekend 14-16th Oct

Here we are back in Auckland ready for semi finals weekend. We are staying in a fabulous apartment on the Princes wharf right near the Fan Zone in Downtown Auckland. We have gorgeous views of the harbour bridge and just to make us feel at home a few storage tanks!

We have made ourselves right at home
This weekend we have hospitality tickets for the rugby so we need to be at the Rendevous hotel for 4 o’clock, ready for 2 hours of food and drinks before we go to the match.Up to now we have used the free buses and trains to get to and from the games. But as the match doesn’t start until 9pm we thought we would follow the Fan Trail.

This a 4K walk that has been painted onto the pavements for the fans to follow.

We were entertained along the way by a variety of musicians, magicians and other entertainers. Plenty of pubs to get more refreshments if needed.

 Phil joins in !
 Might try this at home?
How about two birds in the pub!
As we approached Eden Park we realised that our seats were in the new temporary stand. Just look at the scaffolding, I hope it’s steady.

It’s 10 flights up and no toilet facilities! Can you imagine 10 thousand people of which at least half will want to go the toilet at half time (if not before)....... bedlam.

We watched two great games so sad for Wales but the All Blacks were magnificent. The Frenchies will have to pull something extra special of the bag to beat them.
