We got a fabulous view of the town nestled into the hillside as we came over the hill and spotted the new stadium immediately. We headed over there to collect our tickets and as we got out of the car we were met by a blustery wind. Boy was it cold so we didn’t hang about and drove to our motel with the aid of the trusty sat nav borrowed from bro.
Lovely studio flat with all mod cons including tea pot (essential). Once unpacked took a stroll down George St to find a café with free wifi and meet up with friends.
We decided to watch the opening game at the Irish pub, The Bog
Lots of fans and made new friends quickly. Here’s Phil talking tactics with one of his pals , guess who?
For those of you who don’t follow rugby it’s Matt Banahan who plays for England . He’s on the bench tomorrow but no doubt will make a massive impact when he comes on the pitch. He’s 6ft 5 and with biceps as big as a donkey’s hind leg! He was so friendly and didn’t mind posing for photos. A fine young man.
Roll on Saturday.
